SAN PASCUAL, Batangas — FOLLOWING through with his successful “Sampung Libong Pag-Asa” campaign to provide aid to every Filipino family, former Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano is set to visit Batangas to distribute P10,000 each to 525 beneficiaries this afternoon, June 18, to highlight how direct economic stimulus can help families rise up from the effects of the pandemic.

The “Sampung Libong Pag-Asa” campaign showcases a key part of Cayetano’s economic recovery plan to assist Filipino families with cash assistance to help them purchase their basic needs and revive their sources of income amid the ongoing pandemic.

The distribution of cash aid will be broadcast live starting at 1:00 p.m. on Cayetano’s official Facebook page. Before the main activity starts, a number of beneficiaries will be selected to receive P10,000 each in a pre-show event that will start at 12 noon and would be viewable also on Cayetano’s Facebook page.

Cayetano will be joined in the main event by Taguig 2nd District Rep. Lani Cayetano, Batangas 2nd District Rep. Ranie Abu, Batangas 1st District Rep. Eileen E. Buhain, Batangas 3rd District Rep. Ma. Theresa Collantes, Batangas 5th District Rep. Marvey Marino, Batangas 4th District Rep. Lianda Bolilia, Batangas 6th District Rep. Vilma Santos-Recto, and other city and provincial officials to assist Cayetano in the day’s activities.

Apart from the selected Batangueno beneficiaries, 100 viewer-beneficiaries will be selected via the Facebook livestream to receive P10,000 each. In its launch last May 1, the “Sampung Libong Pag-Asa” highlighted the stories of beneficiaries who said the amount they received helped them rise up from the hardships they encountered when the country was placed under quarantine.

Since then, the program has distributed cash aid to more than 2,000 Filipinos, most of whom have invested a part of their aid to jumpstart their small businesses.|-bnn
