BAROTAC NUEVO, ILOILO — A spirited delegation of student-athletes and school officials from the Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology (ISUFST) has set off for Camiguin Island to compete in the 2025 National State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Games, scheduled from April 22 to 27, 2025.

These 16 athletes earned their spots by excelling in the Regional SCUAA (RSCUAA) qualifiers held last December, which ISUFST proudly hosted. Their outstanding performances secured their place among the nation’s top collegiate athletes.

This year’s National SCUAA Games is made possible through the warm collaboration of Camiguin Polytechnic State College (CPSC), the Provincial Government of Camiguin, the Association of State Universities and Colleges in Region X, and the Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS). The theme “Advancing SUC Unity, Elevating Sports Excellence for Sustainable Development” brings together hundreds of student-athletes to compete and celebrate teamwork, sportsmanship, and a shared vision for a more united and forward-moving academic community.

Before their departure, the ISUFST National SCUAA delegates paid a courtesy visit to University President Dr. Nordy Siason, Jr., who emphasized the importance of discipline and self-care. “Discipline, one of ISUFST’s guiding principles, is the foundation of success. Trust in your training, stay focused and enjoy the journey. We believe in your talents and dedication,” Dr. Siason encouraged.

The ISUFST community extends its best wishes to the athletes, hoping they bring honor to the university and continue its proud tradition in sports. “Trust your training. Stay focused. Represent our university with pride and humility,” he said. He also emphasized the importance of self-care and safety, telling the athletes to compete without pressure but with purpose, and to enjoy the opportunity to represent the province and ISUFST on a national stage.|
