HERBAL soaps, honey bee products, rice-based desserts and handmade leathers are some of the products that went on sale at SM City Lipa’s Seniors Bazaar in celebration of Grandparents Day.  Launched last September 3, and graced by the Department of Trade and Industry Batangas’ Marissa Argente,  the bazaar featured the products of Batangas’ entrepreneurial senior citizens.

Among the exhibitors is Efren Ayo, 61 years old from the town of Ibaan.  His products are hand-made herbal soaps called Oayo Herbal Soaps. After retiring as chemists, husband and wife Efren and Sophie started their soap business in their hometown, using natural products from their farm like moringga, guava leaves, calamansi and honey.

Another exhibitor is Wildora Miranda, 60 years old from Sto. Tomas, Batangas.  Selling handmade leather bags and purses, her products are identifiable with the crochets in it, which Wildora personally does.  According to her, doing crochet relaxes her.

Other exhibitors include Winnie Pagcaliwagan, 65 years old from Batangas City; Cecil De Jesus of Lipa Beekeepers Cooperative; and friends Evelyn Lim and Marilou Walls. The bazaar will run until September 8.|-Advt.
