AboitizPower geothermal business unit, AP Renewables Inc. (APRI), has recently passed the surveillance audit for Asset Management System (ISO 55001:2014), highlighting its world-class standards and practices in generating clean and renewable energy.

DQS Certification Philippines has certified APRI with zero non-conformance after its thorough evaluation of APRI’s Asset Management System (AMS), both in the MakBan and Tiwi facilities, in adherence to ISO standards.

APRI’s vision of becoming a world-class organization in 2018 opened its doors to AMS by bringing in different experts in the field of engineering. APRI developed its own Strategic Asset and Management Plan and provided different trainings and workshops that enabled the organization to identify and reduce its operational asset-related risks and improve overall plant performance by effectively utilizing the critical tools used in Asset Management System – specifically Asset Condition Assessment and Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis.

“The improvement of AMS implementation in APRI is really evident compared to my first audit back in 2019. I would like to congratulate APRI for successfully maintaining their certification,” said DQS Certification Philippines External Auditor Romeo Zamora.

“ APRI commits to ensuring reliable operations of our plants by implementing a competent and robust framework of a data and technology-driven AMS by balancing cost, risk, and performance of our assets. We constantly seek for better ways to manage our assets and maintain a safe working environment,” said APRI President and COO Dennis B. Jordan.

AboitizPower, through APRI, has been operating the Tiwi-MakBan geothermal plants since its acquisition in 2009. The company made a deliberate effort to rehabilitate these facilities and to significantly improve their performance through new technologies and process improvements such as predictive analytics and condition-based maintenance. This proactive approach has proven to be more reliable and cost-efficient, thus benefiting customers and communities.
