Aboitiz Construction records 35 Million Safe Man-Hours

Must read

Aboitiz Construction has achieved its highest safety milestone in company history, recording 35,657,764 safe man-hours without a Lost Time Incident (LTI) as of August 31, 2025. This achievement spans 1,024 consecutive days, from 2022 until August 2025, and underscores the company’s strong commitment to safety and execution excellence.

The accomplishment is a collective effort across 15 construction projects, 19 maintenance projects nationwide, and two corporate offices in Taguig City and Cebu City.

Safety discipline was particularly evident this quarter, with four major project sites—Biz Hub, Tier 1 Phase 2, and Big E Food Processing Plant in LIMA Estate, Batangas, and TARI Estate in Tarlac City—each celebrating their own 1-million safe man-hour milestones without LTIs.

“This milestone is proof that safety is not just a policy, but a way of life at Aboitiz Construction. Reaching 35 million safe man-hours without an LTI reflects the discipline, vigilance, and teamwork of every Kauban across our projects and offices. More than numbers, it shows our collective commitment to execution excellence, protecting our people, and delivering quality work for our clients and stakeholders,” said Anton Mari Perdices, Aboitiz Construction’s Director, President, and Chairman.

In its 50th year, Aboitiz Construction reached a landmark safety record, affirming its legacy of building with safety and execution excellence at the core.

At the core of this achievement is Aboitiz Construction’s Incident Prevention Program, which applied stricter monitoring and a broader view of safety. By tracking not only disabling injuries but also restricted work and medical treatment cases, the company gained clearer insights into risks and improvements. Ongoing training, awareness sessions, audits, and monitoring further reinforced this strong safety culture.

Now in its second year, ACI’s Safety, Health, Environment, and Security (SHES) Month, held every June, has also reinforced workplace safety by raising awareness and encouraging team members to uphold safety daily. The initiative was recognized with a Silver Award at the 60th Anvil Awards.

This achievement comes at a meaningful time, as Aboitiz Construction celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Reaching such a milestone in its golden year affirms the company’s enduring commitment to building safely, responsibly, and with excellence for the past five decades.| – Balikas.net
