IN observance of this year’s Fire Prevention Month, AboitizPower subsidiary Therma Luzon, Inc. (TLI) upgraded the wiring system of 36 classrooms at Talipan National High School in Pagbilao, Quezon Province.

The rewiring project, in cooperation with the Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (AFI), endeavors to ensure that there is zero incident of fire, to reduce the electricity bill, as well as to make the school a safer and better place for the students.

“This partnership with TLI and Aboitiz Foundation is in line with the mission of our school to provide a safe learning environment for the students. These newly rewired classrooms will enable students to equip themselves with more skills and knowledge that are needed to become productive citizens of our country,” said Caridad Grimaldo, principal of Talipan National High School, during the turnover ceremony, March 13.

The school has more than 2,500 junior and senior high school students, making it the largest and most populous public school in Pagbilao.

Grimaldo said she appreciated that the turnover event was in line with the Fire Prevention Month as the students were made more aware of how important having a proper wiring system is in order to prevent fire.

TLI is the independent power producer administrator (IPPA) of the 700-megawatt Pagbilao Coal-fired Power Plant located in Ibabang Polo, Isla Grande, Pagbilao, Quezon Province. Together with Therma Visayas, Inc. (TVI) and Therma South, Inc. (TSI), the three primarily comprise the Coal Business Unit of AboitizPower.|
