LEADING renewable energy producers — AP Renewables, Inc. (APRI) and San Carlos Sun Power Inc. (SacaSun), the wholly-owned subsidiaries of AboitizPower that harness Cleanergy using geothermal and solar, — just passed the external Integrated Management System (IMS) surveillance audit conducted by TUV Rheinland Philippines, Inc. last October 14-16, 2019.

APRI maintained the validity of their certificates for ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) for its corporate center in BGC Taguig and plant facilities in MakBan and Tiwi. The two plant facilities also maintained their ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS) certificate and upgraded the  Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) certificate to the latest version ISO 45001:2018.

The three sites achieved Zero Nonconformity for four (4) consecutive years, since 2015.

For SacaSun in Negros Occidental, this is their first time to pass the external audit allowing them to join the list of ISO-certified companies. SacaSun received certifications in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 as well.

Asked why the company has to go through a rigorous process and subject itself to an external audit, Alexander B. Coo, President and COO of the company said, “Our mission is to provide reliableand ample power supply when needed and ensure that the supply of electricity is provided at a reasonableand competitive price. By implementing IMS in our internal process, we are able to achieve operational and service excellence while providing consistent employee development, reducing occupational health and safety risks – creating a conducive working environment for our people and partners.”

Eufronio Alonzo, lead auditor of TUV Rheinland Philippines, Inc. confirmed and said, “The Internal IMS audit process of APRI appears to be one of the best practices for the whole AP Group and Corporate Internal Audit Group process. 5S quarterly audits also resulted in an excellent state of housekeeping at different sites.”

On another note, Lionel Aala, auditor for SacaSun said, “The organization was able to materialize and continuously provide projects to the community as part of community service relations such as Brigada Eskwela, Community-based DRRM Training and Equipment Donation, and Back to School Support for Elementary Schools Project 2019.”

All in all, a total of 23 positive findings for both APRI and SacaSun were noted by TUV External Auditors. This initiative truly is a testament to the company’s initiative of driving change for a better world.|-BALIKAS News Network
