MORE than 300 residents of Brgy. Limao, Caluan, Laguna flocked to its barangay-covered court during AP Renewables Inc.โ€™s (APRI) medical mission activity recently.ย  Free medical services such as blood tests, X-ray,ย electrocardiogram (ECG), dental check-ups, circumcision operations, medical check-ups, and free medicines were offered to its beneficiaries who are mostly adults and senior citizens.

โ€œNagpunta ako para malaman ang rason kung bakit ako nangingimi o  nangagalos madalas. Mabuti na lamang at nalaman ko sa aking kamag-anak na may medical mission ngayon sa aming barangay at maaga pa lang ay pumila na ako,โ€ said by 84-year old senior citizen Nanay Victoria Songcaya.

โ€œNagpatingin din ako ng mata, dugo, at general check-up para sigurado ako na maayos ang aking pangagatawan,โ€ she added.

For the very first time, circumcision was also offered to the male children of Limao for ages 10 and above. The academic break enables the children to avail the said service. One of the very proud residents of Limao, Kimberly Burgos, shared her experience with his son.

โ€œNakakatuwa sapagkat maayos ang pagkakatuli sa aking anak at naging mabilis at maayos ang naging proseso. Proud ako na may binata na akong anak,โ€ she said.

The activity was a joint effort between SM Foundation Inc., Operation Blessing, the barangay LGU of Limao, Calauan, Laguna, and the Municipality LGU of Calauan, Laguna as led by Hon. Mayor Roseller โ€œOselโ€ Caratihan.

โ€œAko po ay nagagalak makita na maraming taong nagpunta sa Medical Mission na ito at maraming salamat po sa AboitizPower at sa APRI sa patuloy na suporta sa mamamayan ng Calauan, Laguna,โ€ said by Mayor Caratihan as he graced the activity.

Likewise, APRIโ€™s Corporate Services Head also expressed his gratitude for the support that APRI has received from its partners and the participation it gets from its host communities.

Nawaโ€™y marami tayong benepisyaryong matulungan ngayong araw.โ€

He added, โ€œAs we said in the AboitizPower group, we advance business and communities. Lahat tayo ay matutulung-tulong upang lahat tayo ay makatamasa ng pag-unlad.โ€

After the medical mission, boxes of medicines and supplements were donated to the Brgy. Limao as an additional stock for their barangay health center.

To serve more people in terms of their medical needs, this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity funded by the Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (AFI), is expected to conduct another medical mission in September 2024 in Brgy. Bitin, Bay, Laguna.|
