Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc. (CCBPI) has partnered with the Municipality of San Juan, Batangas as part of its flagship nationwide clear PET bottle collection initiative “Tapon to Ipon: Basta Klaro, Panalo!”, reinforcing its commitment to supporting local government units (LGUs) in their sustainability efforts. The partnership signing, followed by the official turnover of a baling machine, took place at the San Juan Municipal Hall on October 7—marking a significant step towards a more robust PET bottle collection and recycling system for its communities.

“Our goal is to help strengthen the local waste management and recycling initiatives of the Municipality of San Juan as we work together towards driving long-term, positive change. We look forward to our continued collaboration with the Municipality of San Juan, led by Mayor Ildebrando D. Salud, fostering collective environmental stewardship by enabling the proper collection and recycling of clear PET plastic bottles,” said Atty. Juan Lorenzo Tañada, CCBPI’s VP for Corporate & Regulatory Affairs.

CCBPI has consistently extended its support to communities—making collection and recycling infrastructure more accessible with the help of its partner cities and municipalities.

Collected clear PET bottles at the Municipality of San Juan Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) to be compressed using the baling machine provided by CCBPI and diverted to PETValue Philippines for recycling.

The partnership aims to ensure that all collected clear PET plastic bottles and recyclable bottle packaging, regardless of brand, are brought to PETValue Philippines, the country’s pioneering bottle-to-bottle recycling facility. PETValue leverages advanced technology to convert fully recyclable post-consumer plastic into new food-grade recycled PET (rPET) bottles. This facility is a joint venture between CCBPI and Indorama Ventures, a global sustainable chemical company.

Through the power of collaboration and strategic partnerships, CCBPI continues to support impactful waste management initiatives across the country, fulfilling its goal of uplifting Filipinos and creating cleaner and greener communities.|PR
