National Children’s Book Reading Day Celebrated at Batangas SM Malls

A TOTAL of 150 grade schoolers participated in the simultaneous celebration of National Children’s Book Reading Day last July 24 SM City Batangas, SM City Lipa and SM Center Lemery.

SM’s Regional Operations Manager for South Luzon 4Cid Luis Victoria (rightmost) together with Wendy Bautista, SM Lipa’s PR Manager (leftmost) and SM Lipa’s Assistant Mall Manager Engr. John C. Mauhay in the ceremonial turnover of books and pencils to the teachers of Don Leon Dolor elementary School.|

Participating schools include St. Therese of Child Jesus Multiple Intelligence School, Lemery Pilot Elementary School, Gov. Leviste Noble Memorial Elementary School and Don Leon Dolor Elementary School.  Highlighting the program is the story book reading led by Eden Destacamento, Zeresa Salazar, Kassy Ira Magnaye, Rosalie Abraham and Julieta Mendoza.

SM Batangas Assistant Mall Manager Engr. Bernard Coronel graced the book turnover to St. Therese of Child Jesus Multiple Intelligence as partner school received by its School Directress Ms.  Eden Destacamento.|

In their welcoming remarks, Mall Managers Lyn Gabriel, Gemina Buenaflor and Assistant Mall Manager John Mauhay Jr., intimated their appreciation to SM’s project partners namely National Bookstore, Anvil Publishing, SM Foundation and SM Cares.  They also showed the importance of book reading to holistic child development reiterated that the act of reading.

The observance of the National Children’s Book Reading Day is an annual activity among SM Malls nationwide.|
