BATANGAS City – IN an extraordinary manner, Batangas governor Hermilando I. Mandanas made a public announcement after the regular weekly Flag Rising ceremony last Monday.

Costumarily, the good governor announces programs of his administration and the updates on his pet projects after the oath of government employees. But on that Monday, Mandanas made public an extraordinary announcement – his upcoming exchange of vows in the Sacrament of Matrimony within the next two weeks.

“Kung hindi tiyak ang pagiging Executive Secretary, ang nakatitiyak ay ang lovelife ng governor”, Mandanas opened. “Your governor is getting married! (again)”, he continued.

Governor Mandanas was rumored to be appointed as the next Executive Secretary few months back, but such rumor remained a rumor for quite some time.

The provincial chief executive then introduced his fiancée, lawyer Angelica Chua, 32, of the nearby town of Ibaan in Batangas’ 4th legislative district. The lady is a daughter of Batangas City Executive Judge Ma. Cecilia Austria-Chua who once served as the Provincial Legal Officer on the early terms of Governor Mandanas, and Dr. Wilson Chua, an anethesiologist. The Holy Matrimony will be solemnized at the  Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Batangas City on May 8, 2024 to be followed by a grand reception at the Marble Terrace of the Batangas Provincial Capitol.|
