Php 3.5M+ worth of forest products confiscated in Cavite

AMADEO, Cavite – Armed with a search warrant, combined efforts of the National Bureau of Investigation, Environmental Protection and Enforcement Task Force, Air Force Nasugbu, and DENR PENRO Cavite has resulted in the apprehension of 2,290 pieces of assorted lumber and flitches, as well as 237 pieces of assorted furniture and finished wood products last June 18, 2020, in Barangay Pangil, Amadeo, Cavite.

The total apprehended lumber and flitches has an estimated volume of 43,103.91 board feet and estimated market value of Php3,499,183.19 while the 237 pieces of assorted finished wood products were estimated to be Php 323,000.

The owner of the apprehended forest products failed to present any required valid documentsor permits, therefore, was charged with a criminal complaint for violation of Section 77 of PD 705 (Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines), as amended.

The apprehended forest and finished products are being hauled to the Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM) in Camp Riego De Dios, Tanza, Cavite for safe-keeping.
