BATANGAS CITY, Batangas – In a concerted effort to enhance public service and community engagement, multiple national government agencies (NGAs) led a Serbisyo Caravan on Friday at Barangay Malis in Brooke’s Point, Palawan province.
The caravan, which highlights the government’s proactive role in fostering community partnerships, was a collaborative endeavor involving the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, 18th Special Forces Company, Philippine National Police, South Central Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and the local government unit of Brooke’s Point.
Together, they offered a variety of free services to residents, including haircuts, circumcision, a feeding program, gift-giving, and information campaign on health, safety, and community development.
Aligned with the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict’s (NTF-ELCAC) Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP), these services aim to provide essential assistance to underserved areas, ensuring that even the most remote communities have access to basic needs and information.
Demonstrating its commitment to community welfare, BJMP Brooke’s Point launched the “Sopas on Wheels: SO-FAST” feeding program.
This initiative served warm, hearty Filipino-style soup to children and residents of Barangay Malis, emphasizing the importance of health and nourishment in underserved areas.
Jail Officer 3 Joefrie Anglo, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Mimaropa Regional Information Officer said caravan is a testament to their commitment to serve beyond their primary duties.
“By engaging with the community, we not only provide essential services but also foster trust and cooperation, paving the way for a safer and more harmonious society,” he added.
