Reinforcing its commitment to disaster resilience, SM City Batangas actively participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 19, 2025, in support of the Office of Civil Defense’s nationwide campaign for a disaster-ready Philippines.
At exactly 9:00 AM, the drill commenced with a loud alarm signaling all mall employees, tenants, and affiliates to execute the “Duck, Cover, and Hold”. Guided by the mall’s Emergency Response Group, participants then proceeded to a calm and orderly evacuation, simulating real-time emergency protocols.

The earthquake drill featured critical response operations, including search and rescue, first aid administration, and casualty evacuation. These activities tested the efficiency and coordination of SM’s emergency response teams in a realistic scenario.

The activity was carried out in partnership with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), ensuring alignment with national emergency standards.|
