SM Prime Holdings recently opened its 85th supermall and the 4th in the province of Batangas on Friday, October 27.
SM City Sto. Tomas is nestled against the majestic backdrop of Mt. Makiling. Located on a 109,531.37 square meter along Maharlika Highway, the newest supermall will serve customers in the nearby areas making it easily accessible to the rest of Batangas and the neighboring provinces of Laguna and Quezon.
Just today, October 26, key officials of SM Supermalls and the province of Batangas led the mall blessing and ribbon cutting ceremonies.
Representing the SM side, are SM Supermalls’ President Steven T. Tan, SM Engineering Design and Development Corporation President Hans Sy Jr., SM Prime Holdings Inc. President Jeffrey C. Lim, and SM Markets Executive Director, Herson Sy. On the government side, Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas, Sto Tomas City Mayor Arth Jhun Marasigan together with his wife, Ms. Elizabeth Marasigan, and Sto. Tomas City Vice Mayor Catherine J. Perez.
Prior to the ribbon cutting ceremony, a Holy Mass was first offered with Rt. Msgr. Ruben Dimaculangan, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Lipa, as main celebrant.SM City Sto Tomas is, indeed, the fourth SM Supermall in the province of Batangas and 85th in the Philippines. The first in the group, SM CIty Batangas kicked-off the development of the “other side” of the historic Calumpang River more than a decade ago. It was followed by SM CIty Lipa few years later; and then SM Center Lemery.
Noticeably, the new mall sports a premium look with greens and mountain design in the wall representing the natural attractions in the city of Sto Tomas, thus, adding to the instagrammable view of Mt. Makiling in the backdrop.
With the grand opening of the mall to the public on Friday, great shops like Uniqlo, Bocu, Own Days, IlaoIlao, Kidzoona, Power Mac Center and Pet Express also open, together with the wide array of restaurants that include Dookki Korean Topokki buffet restaurant, Peri-Peri, Mesa, Marugame Udon, and many others.| – BNN
