5 arrested as PDEA dismantles drug den in Laguna

SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna – AT least five drug personalities were arrested as the combined personnel of Drug Enforcement Officers of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office IV-A (PDEA ROIV-A), Drug Enforcement Unit of San Pablo City Police Station and the Philippine Air Force, dismantled a drug den, Saturday afternoon.

PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino in a report submitted by Dir III Adrian G. Alvariniño, PDEA RO IV-A, Regional Director, said that a drug deal transpired between an undercover agent and Mark Elvin Noval y Pagkalinawan alias Popoy at around 3:30 in the afternoon.

Upon a pre-arranged signal, joint members of the operating teams arrested the suspect, which led to the discovery and dismantling of a drug den maintained by Noval at Ramirez Compound Purok 1 Barangay San Rafael, San Pablo City, Laguna. The four other drug personalities arrested were identified as Boyet Laz y Cauyan, Herberrt Ligon y Escueta, John Aries Racelis y Peñana and Franzen Reyes y Vilela. All are residents of San Pablo City, Laguna.

Seized from the drug suspects were more or less 10 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as shabu with an estimated value of Php80,000.00 assorted drug paraphernalia, and buy-bust money.

The arrested suspects will be charged for violation of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den), Section 7 (Employees and Visitors of a Drug Den, Dive or Resort), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Section 13 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs During Parties, Social Gatherings or Meetings) and Section 15 (use of Dangerous Drugs) Article II, of RA 9165, has been filed against the five arrested suspects.|BALIKAS News
