A TOTAL of 56,624 patients has benefitted from the Medical Assistance for Indigents Program (MAIP) of the Department of Health in CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) from January to December of 2019.

There are 51,516 regular patients granted and 5,108 Dengvaxia patients provided with medical assistance with a total of Php144,942,786.05 and 7,773,819.04, respectively.

Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo stated that beneficiaries of MAIP will now have more options where to get medical treatment as more private hospitals in the region are now committed to provide medical treatment to indigent patients through the medical assistance program.

DOH-CALABARZON Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo emphasizes the need to provide not only medical treatment to indigent patients but to see it through that they received proper treatment up to their recovery period during the MAIP MOA Signing of Private Hospitals of the region held at the Hive Hotel in Timog, Quezon City on February 6, 2020  |

The regional office continues to monitor students who received the Dengvaxia vaccine and provide medical assistance to those needing medical treatment.

Janairo disclosed that Dengvaxia vaccinees will continue to be observed and assessed for two more years to be able to know the adverse reactions as a result of the vaccination done in 2016.| – BALIKAS News Network
