CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — IN the wake of COVID-19, the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro recently installed a thermal scanner worth P395,000 at the entry point of Calapan City Port to screen the body temperature of passengers.

Oriental Mindoro Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor, Leo A. Romero, Port Services Division Manager and Randy Malapote, representative of Southside Medical, the distributor of the device, officiated the installation of the thermal scanner at the port.

“I would like to ensure that my fellow Mindoreños will maintain their good health, so this scanner is the instrument to determine if a passenger has a warm temperature”, he stated.

The installation of the instrument is one of the precautionary measures that will help the medical staff to effectively screen passengers as the City of Calapan is the main entry point for both locals and foreign visitors in the province of Oriental Mindoro.

The budget of the newly-installed device was shouldered by the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro (PGOM).
