Batangas City – “Our cases these days are very much alarming and we have to be proactive in dealing with it.” Thus, Vice Governor Mark Leviste quips in an interview with BALIKAS News, Tuesday.

“Our offices in the capitol is severely infected or we can say that are drastically infected, with the spike of cases hounding our employees,” the official said. Sources in the capitol said most of the new cases recorded in the capitol are employees of Provincial Treasurer’s Office and Provincial Budget Office.

The Provincial Department of Health Office (PDOHO) reported that there are 231 new active cases as of March 29, or an increase of 42.6% from the total 162 new cases recorded on the preceding day.

The PDOHO data revealed that as of March 29, 2021, Batangas province has recorded a total of 15,315 confirmed cases with 1,843 active cases. Of these cases, 905 are mild, 56 are moderate, 17 are severe and 4 are critical.

“But, there’s no need yet to place Batangas under the stricter enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) status. We will just strictly abide and adhere to the regulations of the national Inter-Agency task Force (IATF), to prevent further surge of cases in the province and help address the problem,” Leviste further said.|- BNN
