Simulation exercise sa mass shooting isinagawa ng isang state university

IPINAKITA ng Batangas State University (BSU) main campus kung paapano ito reresponde kasama ang pamahalaang lunsod ng Batangas, mga government agencies at mga kalapit na local government units kung magkaroon ng isang mass shooting incident dito sa pamamagitan ng simulation exercises.

Ang simulation exercises ay bahagi ng ASEAN Conference and Exposition on Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation (ACEDRMCCA) 2018 kung saan host ang BSU noong July 25-27. Ito ay may temang “Converging with the ASEAN Community in Managing Disaster Risks and Climate Change for a Resilient Community”.

Layunin nito na maipakita sa mga delegado ang kahandaan at mabilis na aksyon ng unibersidad at ng mga partners nito sa pagresponde sa ganitong man-induced calamity.

Tumayong incident commander para sa BSU si Vice President for Research, Development and Extension Services, Engr. Albertson Amante at Batangas City PNP Chief, PSupt Sancho Celedio naman para sa city government.

Pinuri ng mga delegado ang naging simulation exercises, dahil naging mabilis ang pag responde at nagampanan ng bawat miyembro ng Incident Command System (ICS) ang kanilang mga tungkulin. Naging maganda rin ang transfer of command mula sa Incident Management Team (ICMT) ng BSU sa IMT ng Batangas City. Ipinakita rin dito ang pagtutulungan ng pribado at publikong sektor.

Nagpasalamat naman si BSU President, Dr. Tirso Ronquillo sa suporta ng mga nabanggit na ahensya sa gawaing ito ng unibersidad. Ito aniya ay patunay na seryoso at kaisa ang paaralan ng pamahalaan sa layuning magligtas ng buhay. “BSU is serious in this advocacy of saving lives,” dagdag pa ni Ronquillo.|#BALIKAS_News
