Mas pinalawak pa ng GMA Regional TV ang coverage nito sa Southern Luzon sa pamamagitan ng paglulunsad ng ika-11 na regional station nito na GMA Batangas at pagpapakilala ng pinakabagong flagship newscast na “GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog.

Available sa GMA TV 12, ang GMA Batangas ang ikaapat na Kapuso regional station sa Luzon sunod sa GMA Dagupan, GMA Ilocos, at GMA Bicol. Sa pamamagitan nito, mas marami pang viewers ang maaabot ng GMA Network sa Batangas, Quezon, Laguna, at iba pang bahagi ng CALABARZON.

Simula nga nitong Pebrero 14, may bago ng maasahan pagdating sa mga balita’t impormasyon ang mga taga-Southern Tagalog dahil sabay sa paglunsad ng GMA Batangas ang pagpapalabas ng “GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog.” Pinangungunahan ng mga anchor nito na sina Ivy Saunar-Gasang at Ace Medrano, mapapanood ito mula Lunes hangang Biyernes sa ganap na ika-5 ng hapon.

Ang “GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog” and ikapitong flagship newscast mula sa GMA RTV kasunod ng matagumpay na paglulunsad ng mga local newscast na GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan (North Central Luzon), GMA Regional TV Balitang Bicolandia (Bicol), GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak (Central and Eastern Visayas), GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas (Western Visayas), GMA Regional TV One Mindanao (North, Central, South Central, at Southern Mindanao), at ang flagship national newscast nito na Regional TV News.
