The largest local government-run hospital in the province of Laguna with a floor area of 10,090.31 square meters has finally been completed to serve the health care needs of Cabuyenos and its neighboring towns.
The Department of Health (DOH) – CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) together with officials of the city government of Cabuyao today led the formal opening of the Cabuyao City Hospital located in Barangay Banaybanay, City of Cabuyao, Laguna.
The Cabuyao City Hospital has been providing outpatient services since the opening of its OPD department on January 29, 2019.
DOH-CALABARZON OIC- Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco congratulated the selfless efforts of the city officials for initiating the project and seeing its completion. “This will give more opportunities for the people of Cabuyao to have an access to quality health care services.”
“We will continue to provide support through the deployment of health human resource including medical doctors, nurses and other allied professionals,” Sydiongco assured.
The regional office has already provided technical assistance by initiating and advocating the establishment of the Hemodialysis Center for Covid patients located inside the health facility.
Cabuyao City Mayor Rommel A. Gecolea also thanked all the people who provided support for the completion of the hospital. “Sa dami ng tulong na ating natanggap kabilang na ang mga nag-volunteer ay masasabi kong talagang pinagpala tayo. Naitayo napo natin ang ating ospital upang makapanggamot sa maysakit natin kababayan. Hindi napo kayo mahihirapang pumunta pa sa malayong ospital upang makapagpagamot, dito na lang po satin.”
“Napakahalaga ang kalusugan ng tao dahil ito ay magbibigay ng mahusay na komunidad katuwang ang ating gobyerno at ating mamayan,” Gecolea stated.
The construction of the Cabuyao City Hospital began in October 2017 in Barangay San Isidro, through City Resolution No. 162-2017, allocating P400 million for the first phase of the project.
The facility was given a second level accreditation by the Department of Health with 150-bed capacity and includes a heart station, radiology and other laboratories, emergency department, OPD department, dialysis complex, neonatal intensive care unit, operating, delivery, and recovery complex, intensive care unit, OB Gyne complex, internal medicine ward, pediatrics ward, and surgical ward.|-BNN
