Religious Heritage on exhibit at SM City Lipa

WHILE the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) called on the public to celebrate National Heritage Month last May, SM City Lipa extended heritage appreciation to its shoppers with a photo exhibit called “Upfront: Encountering the Sacred” last July 8 to 12 at the mall’s Events Center. The exhibit featured the photos of 38 colonial churches in the Philippines.

Classified by the NCCA as a National Cultural Treasure, the San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish Church in Tanay, Rizal is one of the churches featured in the exhibit.| Photo by Benzer Brul.

The photographers include Jun Bucao, Chelli Ridon Castellano, Benzer Brul, Bless Brul- Constantino, Bobby Taron, Ruven Verdaguer, Godwin Hernaez, Loel Lamela, Arellano Galdo III, Bernadette Juson, Fiorello Alegre Jr., Isaiah Bucao, John Robin Sia, Joel Yonzon, Joey Thomas, Liberion Soledad Jr., Lino Jubilan Jr., Nelson Gonzales, Remus Nicolas Doroon, Ronald Allan Geraldez, Simeon Recio and Teofanes Ramiro. Partners for the exhibit include Fujifilm, NCCA, Metropolitan Museum of Manila, Filipino Heritage Festival and Security Bank.|-PR
