‘Calabarzon is biggest GDP contributor, next to NCR’ – PSA

THE CALABARZON Region (Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Rizal-Quezon) remains the biggest contributor to the to gross domestic product (GDP) among the regions outside Metro Manila, according to the report of the Philippine Statistics Authority as presented during the 7th Regional Competitiveness Summit held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City, October 24.

The region posted 17% contribution, barely half of National Capital Region’s 36%; Central Luzon tailing on the third place at 9.8%

The Department of Trade and Industry recognizes the highly competitive cities, municipalities and provinces during the 7th edition of the CMCI), commending the local government units’ efforts to enhance the competitiveness at the local and regional levels.

The rankings, however, of Cities and Municipalities are based on the sum of their scores on 4 Pillars: Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure and Resiliency. Provincial rankings are based on population and income weighted average of the Overall scores of cities and municipalities under a province.| – BALIKAS News Network
