THE Department of Health (DOH) – CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) today wrapped-up its provincial tours for the 3-day national vaccination days (NVD) by visiting the main vaccination sites and observing the conduct of vaccination activities in the island towns of Alabat, Quezon-Quezon and Perez in the province of Quezon.
DOH Undersecretary Charade M. Grande and Regional Director Ariel I. Valencia led the island visits during the last day of NVD. Both personally witness the situation of the vaccination activity including concerns and issues experienced by vaccination teams such as power interruptions, weak internet signal and lack of safety collection boxes for syringes.
“I am thankful for the commitment of our health workers dahil kahit malakas ang ulan ay patuloy pa rin nilang tinatapos ang pagbabakuna. Your sacrifices and utmost devotion to your work will be duly recognized,”Regional Director Ariel I. Valencia stated in his message during a welcome program held at Alabat Island National High School covered court.
Valencia also enlightened residents and provided information on the importance of Covid vaccines during his message and reminded those who have not yet receive their vaccine to get vaccinated for their protection.
The target eligible population for the island town of Perez is 9,167 with 2,048 or 22.34 percent already fully vaccinated; for the town of Quezon-Quezon. a total of 11,470 eligible target with 4,377 fully vaccinated or 38.16% percentage of fully vaccinated individuals as of 12PM.
The town of Alabat has targeted a total of 900 eligible residents for the 3-day NVD.
“Sa mga hindi pa nabakunahan ay huwag pong magalala dahil magkakaroon pa po tayong muli ng isa pang tatlong araw na vaccination activity ngayong buwan ng Disyembre at inaasahan ko po na kayong lahat ay magpapabakuna na upang makamit na ng ating rehiyon ang minimithi nating herd immunity para po sa proteksyon nating lahat,” Valencia emphasized.
Usec. Grande, on her speech, reminded everyone to continue to follow community health protocols. “Kahit po tayo ay nabakunahan na ay manatili pa rin po tayong magsuot ng face mask sa tuwing lalabas ng bahay, sumunod sa social distancing para po sa patuloy nating proteksiyon sa Covid virus,”|
