MANILA, Philippines — IN an effort to curb the proliferation of fake news in the country, specially in social media and the community press, the Philippine Press Institute (PPI) keeps the ball rolling as it brings the ‘fight’ to colleges and universities both in the imperial Manila and in the countryside.

Just over the week, the training team conducted the scholastic program on fake news at the Polytechnic University of Philippines (PUP) at its main campus in Sta. Mesa where close to 200 students, teachers, and employees attended.

Supported by Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC) as PPI’s principal partner in civic journalism which is the latter’s flagship program, the most recent seminar is the third installment of the campus roadshow which is an expanded program of last year’s seminar series.

Like in the past legs of the roadshow, the participants  sign the covenant of commitment to hand in hand fight against the reign of fake news in all media platforms.|#BALIKAS_News
