AP Renewables Inc. (APRI) and San Carlos Sun Power Inc. (SacaSun), both renewable energy generation subsidiaries of the AboitizPower, passed the second surveillance audit for the Integrated Management System (IMS) last February 8-11, 2021.
The external auditor, TUV Rheinland Philippines Inc., commended the existing certifications of both companies on the following standards: International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 for Quality Management System, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management System, and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
TUV Rheinland lead auditor, Rafael Magsino, noted eight positive findings and zero non-conformity for both APRI and SacaSun.
“We saw how APRI and SacaSun have continuously improved through the years. The result of the audit confirms how these organizations effectively implement the IMS,” Magsino said.
Zero non-conformity has been achieved for five consecutive years for APRI and two consecutive years for SacaSun.
“The fact that we do not have any non-conformance finding shows that despite the limitations posed upon by the COVID-19 situation proves that we as a team, continued to operate in line with global standards and remained committed to our processes to ensure positive results in terms of quality, safety, and the care for the environment and the communities we operate in,” APRI and SacaSun President and COO, Dennis B. Jordan said.
The surveillance audit was conducted virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Both APRI and SacaSun prepared live and pre-recorded videos of the different power plant facilities for the audit.
A total of 61 employees from APRI and SacaSun demonstrated AboitizPower’s value of teamwork as they worked together to achieve this important milestone.
Both AP subsidiaries will be facing another scheduled audit in October 2021 for the re-certification of the three standards.|-bnn
