SM Supermarket Chefs Showdown at SM City Batangas

IT was a gathering of food lovers and food experts in the mall with the recently concluded SM Supermarket Chefs Showdown at SM City Batangas.

Five aspiring Batangueno Chefs show off their culinary creativity in the Chef Showdown featuring the ingredients, Batangas Beef Tenderloin and Kapeng Barako.

Kenneth Villanueva and Ariel Gerome Lainez were awarded the grand prize for their Beef Tenderloin Tapang Taal and Kapeng Bibingka with Café Barako Mousse. They received P20,000 worth SM Gift Certificates and Gifts Packs from SM Supermarket.

Contest winners for the Batangas Beef Tenderloin and Kapeng Barako Recipe of SM Supermarket Chefs Showdown at SM City Batangas– (from middle) Grand Winner – Kenneth Villanueva and Ariel Lainez, Second place –Ian Gabriel Zacarias and Roel Mendoza, Third Place – Noriel Nino Cueto and Jonathan Dinglasan together with SM Marketing Assistant Vice President Arvin Ang, Chef Jill Sandique, SM Marketing Senior Assistant Vice President Ritzgerald Gonzales, Chef Myrna Segismundo, Chef Raul Ramos and Mr. DIndo Montenegro.

Ian Gabriel Zacarias and Roel Mendoza were awarded second place for their Beef Tenderloin Roast with Chimichurri Sauce and Café Barako Red Wine Reduction Sauce while Noriel Nino Cueto and Jonathan Dinglasan were awarded third place for their Herb Crusted Beef Tenderloin and Kapeng Barako Mousse. They received P10,000 and P5,000 worth SM Gift Certificates and Gift packs from SM Supermarket respectively.

Entrusted with the privilege and difficult but pleasurable task of deciding on the chef showdown winners are renowned chefs Jill Sandique, Raul Ramos and National Chef Showdown’s Myrna Segusmundo with food lover, Dindo Montenegro.
