Batangas City – Recognizing the effort of the business sector to help contain the virus and prevent its spread in the community, the city government of Batangas has institute the awarding of safety seal to various establishments that were proven to have dutifully implemented the minimum public health standards (MPHS) in the operation of their businesses.
The seal serves as proof of the establishments’ serious consideration to the observance of the MPHS as mandated by the Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 21-01 entitled “Implementing Guidelines of the Safety Seal Certification Program” of both the public and private sector during the pandemic.
This Thursday morning, Mayor Beverly Rose A. Dimacuha joined by the City Safety Seal Inspection and Certification Committee, personally presented to SM City Batangas mall management the safety seal after the said committee has affirmed the mall’s compliance in the series of monitoring in the past month.
The committee take cognizance of the mall’s provision of isolation area for customers and mall workers who may have found to be infected of the viorus have manifested symptoms of the disease, designation of safety officers, provision of exhaust systems of tenants for proper ventilation, public address system inside the mall to constantly remind the customers of the existing health protocols, and the implementation of Trace Together App which was developed for all SM Supermalls in the country.
As of the awarding day, 97% of the mall’s workers have already received COVID-19 vaccines.
In receiving the award, the mall management guarantees the public that their business is compliant with the requirements set by the government to ensure their health, safety and security, and further affirms its commitment to continue maintaining the safety of their shoppers and that the public can still experience safe malling even at the height of the pandemic.|-BNN
